Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha early in the morning, and you’ll begin the scenic drive eastward toward Mkomazi National Park, passing through towns and rural landscapes along the Pare and Usambara mountains. After park entry formalities, you’ll begin your game drive through Mkomazi’s rugged savannahs and semi-arid acacia woodlands. The park hosts elephants, giraffes, zebras, elands, hartebeests, and occasionally African wild dogs. In the afternoon, you will visit the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary, a secure reserve within the park established to protect black rhinos. Here, you’ll have a unique opportunity to learn about the conservation efforts underway and view these rare creatures in a safe habitat. After a fulfilling day, you’ll drive to Elephant Motel in Same, located near the park’s boundary, for dinner and overnight.
