Great Migration
We begin with a short drive to Arusha Airport, then fly to Grumeti Airstrip in the Western Serengeti.
The vastness of the Serengeti is truly breathtaking. In the Western Corridor, your driver-guide will explore a range of wildlife-rich loops crossing the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers—home to elephants, giraffes, baboons, lions, and more.
During the Migration season, the drama intensifies as massive crocodiles await wildebeest crossings. With patience, you may witness one of nature’s most thrilling moments—an unforgettable river crossing, and perhaps even a hunt.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Western Serengeti. If you missed a river crossing yesterday, today brings another chance your driver-guide will do his best to get you there.
Beyond the migration, this region is rich in wildlife. Highlights include hippo pools, where spotting is effortless, and the rare lowland black-and-white colobus monkeys found only in this area. Keep an eye out for topis too the Mbalageti region holds the highest concentration in all of Tanzania.
After breakfast and a final game drive in the Western Serengeti, we begin our 80 km journey to the Central Serengeti about 2.5 hours by road. Along the way, your driver-guide will keep an eye out for wildlife activity to make the most of the drive.
This morning is another chance to witness the migration and the many challenges the herds face, along with sightings of resident animals and birdlife such as the striking martial eagle.
Upon arrival in Central Serengeti, we enjoy lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in this thriving wildlife hub. Later, check in to your lodge for a well-earned rest and evening at leisure.
Today we depart from our lodge in the Central Serengeti for another day of exciting game viewing. Wildlife here is plentiful—sometimes it feels like it comes looking for you!
The central region, where bushland meets grassland, is a prime territory for big cats. Keep your eyes open for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. As we explore, you’ll also enjoy the diverse landscapes, from the Seronera River to the iconic rocky kopjes that define the Serengeti.
After breakfast, we journey from Central to Northern Serengeti—a scenic 5-hour drive filled with changing landscapes and wildlife encounters along the way.
The Northern Serengeti is a stunning region of open woodlands stretching to the Mara River near the Kenyan border. This area is rich in wildlife, and while nothing is guaranteed, even a rare rhino sighting is possible!
Now following the path of the Great Migration, we may witness the dramatic river crossings as wildebeest and zebra brave the Mara. Patience is key—but whether or not you catch a crossing, Northern Serengeti never fails to impress.
After breakfast at the lodge, set out for another thrilling day in Northern Serengeti. Between July and October, this region rivals the south in wildlife abundance.
Your full-day game drive may reveal elephants, buffalo, eland, gazelles and if you’re lucky, even a cheetah or the elusive black rhino, which resides here in small numbers.
If you haven’t yet witnessed a Mara River crossing, your driver-guide will keep a close eye on promising spots. With migrating herds and a variety of resident wildlife like giraffes and dik-diks, every moment offers something special.
After a relaxing breakfast, we transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). Enjoy your final glimpse of Tanzania’s stunning landscapes from the air.
The flight takes about two hours, where you will connect with your departure flight home.
