Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. After check-in, you’ll meet your mountain guide for a detailed trek briefing and gear check, followed by a relaxing evening as you prepare for the climb.
After an early breakfast, drive to Machame Gate (1,800 m) where you’ll complete park registration. Begin your trek through lush montane rainforest, surrounded by towering trees, moss, and exotic birdlife. The trail steadily climbs for about 5–6 hours before reaching Machame Camp, your first overnight stop nestled in the misty forest.
Today is a key acclimatization day. Trekking from Shira Camp up to Lava Tower (4,630 m) for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp for overnight. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to the altitude and boosts your summit chances. Along the way, enjoy views of strange plant life and surreal volcanic landscapes.
Begin your day by conquering the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but thrilling scramble with incredible views. Continue through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Camp, the final base before summit night. Rest, hydrate, and sleep early—your midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak is just hours away.
At midnight, begin your summit push under the stars. This is the most physically and mentally demanding portion of the trek. Hike past Stella Point (5,756 m) to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate with photos and take in the majestic sunrise before descending back to Barafu for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for your final overnight.

My adventure began in Serengeti National Park, where the sweeping landscapes and abundant wildlife completely exceeded my expectations. Our guide, James, was exceptional—his deep knowledge, sharp eye for spotting animals, and genuine passion for the bush made every moment unforgettable. Tarangire was teeming with elephants and beautiful baobab trees, while Ngorongoro Crater delivered jaw-dropping wildlife encounters in the most dramatic setting. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and ideally located near the parks. The food was delicious and hearty throughout the trip. If you're looking to explore the best of Tanzania, this journey with James and Pangolin Travelers is a must! Salome PedroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
