A hot air balloon safari in the Serengeti is one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences in Tanzania. Floating silently above the endless plains at sunrise gives you a completely different perspective of the park, golden light, sweeping views, and wildlife moving below you. It’s peaceful, magical, and ideal for photographers, honeymooners, and anyone looking for something truly special during their safari.
But is it worth the price? Here’s everything you need to know.
You rise before dawn and drift over the Serengeti as the sun paints the horizon gold. From above, you can spot giraffes walking through the acacia woodlands, elephants feeding in the grass, and if you’re lucky, predators starting their morning patrol.
If you visit during the migration season, you may witness massive herds of wildebeest and zebras from the air. Seeing thousands of animals moving as one is breathtaking from above.
Unlike game drives, there’s no engine noise, just the occasional sound of the burner. It’s calm, romantic, and very different from any other safari activity.
After landing, you enjoy a luxurious bush breakfast set up in the middle of the Serengeti. Fresh fruits, pastries, hot dishes, and champagne make the morning even more memorable.
