Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) is a life-changing adventure, but pairing your climb with a Tanzania safari makes the journey even more unforgettable. Pangolin Expeditions offers expert guidance for both your Kilimanjaro trek and safari, ensuring a safe, organized, and memorable experience.
Your climb begins around 11:00 pm to 1:00 am. The air is thin and temperatures drop well below freezing. With Pangolin Expeditions guides, you maintain a steady pace and stay well-hydrated. Headlamps light the trail, and your team monitors altitude adaptation to help prevent fatigue or sickness.
After hours of climbing, you reach Stella Point (5,756 m) at the crater rim. Warm tea and encouragement from your guides prepare you for the final stretch. The moment is emotional, exhaustion, pride, and excitement mix as the summit draws closer.
The last stretch is scenic, with sunrise revealing Kilimanjaro’s glaciers and the vast Tanzanian plains below. Standing at Uhuru Peak, you enjoy panoramic views, take photos, and celebrate with your guides. Pangolin Expeditions ensures your experience is safe and fully supported.
Descending from the summit is challenging for tired legs, but your guides help you navigate loose terrain safely. This is the perfect time to reflect on the achievement, the training, and the determination it took to reach the roof of Africa.
